This year’s edition of ATLANTUR, a trade fair focusing on products and services for tourist accommodation establishments, will be held from 25th to 27th March 2020, at the Trade Fair Institution of the Canary Islands (INFECAR) in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
The aim of the International Fair of the Atlantic, Atlantur, promoted by the Island Council of Gran Canaria, and organized by INFECAR is to become the main networking meeting point for tourist accommodation establishments in the Canary Islands, bringing supply and demand together for products and services: hotels and non-hotel accommodation (apartments, bungalows and holiday homes), and restaurants. Exhibitors in this fair will belong to the following sectors: construction, equipment, technology, holiday homes and food and beverages.
In addition, the fair has been certified as a UFI International Approved Event, after passing the audit carried out by The Global Association of the Exhibition Industry (UFI) and it has also been audited by the Spanish Trade Fair Association (AFE – Asociación de Ferias Españolas). The fair has also been recognised as an Official Fair of the Canary Islands by the Canary Islands Local Government.
The tourism industry is the economic and social driver of the Canary Islands, and it accounts for more than 30% of the GDP of their economy, with more than 15 million tourists every year, more than 400 thousand tourist accommodation places and more than 1700 hotel and non-hotel establishments.
The Trade Fair Institution of the Canary Islands (INFECAR – Institución Ferial de Canarias) has been opening doors and allowing businesses to operate between Europe, Africa and America for more than five decades. By organising the International Trade Fair of the Atlantic, this new specialization phase that started during the past editions of this fair continues growing, making this trade fair the leading event of the tourism sector in the Canary Islands.
